Nohemí Ramírez is an ordained Pastor of the United Methodist Church. She is a member of the Rio Grande Conference since 1996. Nohemí came to La Puerta Abierta UMC from the North Georgia Conference where she was the Pastor of the First Hispanic United Methodist Church of Atlanta, and the founder of the Latin Mission ministry in Athens, GA. Nohemí served as Pastor of The Trinity church in Lubbock, Texas and in the Temple of the Holy Spirit church in Bryan, Texas in the Rio Grande Conference.
Nohemí studied Sacred Music, Religion and Theology sciences, and graduated as valedictorian from the course of studies in Perkins School of Theology SMU in Dallas, Texas. Nohemí is also a facilitator of the Hispanic National Plan and has served on the Board of Discipleship of the United Methodist Church. Nohemí has ample experience in planting and developing churches, as she has worked in this field since the beginning of her ministry.
She is married to Enrique Ramírez and has a daughter, Joyce Sheren who is married to Matt Sheren, and a son, Daniel Ramirez, who is beginning his further studies at Rasmussen College in St. Paul, MN. Nohemi is committed to God’s work and to the Hispanic community, but also enjoys cultural diversity and plurality. Her personal motto is: “Whoever doesn’t live to serve is not really living”.
